I came across an interesting article today on Cinematical discussing the future of moviesĀ and the internet. It’s entirely possible, if not probable, that in the near future internet users will have the entire surviving history of cinema at their fingertips. So the next time your friend tells you about this great little obscure film he saw in his university film class, you won’t have to spend time calling all the Blockbusters in your hometown only to come up with a big goose egg. You can go home, hop online, easily find the film in question, and download it for as much money as it would cost you to rent it. I can think of several films that I would love to see but would never be able to find at the local video store. Not bad.
