We wrapped my latest short film, “Collection” back in early February, but I just heard from my editor that a cut probably won’t be ready until May 14 for my review (You can look at some behind-the-scenes videos of the production by visiting Parc Entertainment’s MySpace page). I’m very appreciative that the editor willing to work on the project at no cost, but I am a little concerned that we won’t make the June 1 Sidewalk deadline.
I’m not too worried about the final cut. I think two weeks is plenty of time to finalize the edit. I AM a little worried that two weeks won’t be enough time for my composer, whose month of May is pretty busy. Everyone has been so great to donate their time, so I want to inconvenience them as little as possible.
I still have yet to see any assembled footage, as the editor prefers to work on his own. I’ve also been able to secure the services of a graphic artist who will work on designing the DVD art and other marketing materials. I will continue to post updates to the film as we draw closer to the June 1 deadline.
