televisionOne of the exciting things we are working on right now is the development of a new documentary reality TV series. The focus of the show will center on a unique business, industry, etc. featuring individuals with charismatic personalities. For reference, think of shows like “Deadliest Catch,” “American Chopper,” “Pawn Stars,” “Construction Intervention,” “Ice Road Truckers,” or “Cake Boss.”

As a region, the southeast is under-represented when it comes to the shows that are currently being produced, so we are hoping to find some great stories from right here in Alabama. This is where we need your help. If you have a great idea for a new documentary TV series, we would love to hear about it. Send us an email and give us the pitch. If we feel that it has potential, we will get back in touch with you to schedule a time when we can come out and shoot a brief demo reel.

Any entrepreneur will tell you that adaptation is an integral part of a successful business. Companies have to study the marketplace. They have to watch and listen, and be willing to evolve as technologies, trends, opinions, and public tastes change.

2010 marks Parc Entertainment’s seventh year in business, and during that time we have been able to work with a variety of clients on some great projects. To date, we have branded ourselves as a video production and post-production facility. But we realize that today’s media is more integrated than it was just a few years ago. Video is now a big part of a company’s web presence. Clients that come to us for video production services often ask about web design and development. And web designers are often asked about video production. They each go hand-in-hand.

As marketing content becomes increasingly connected, we realize that clients need compelling and visually stunning content. They need a production facility that can engage, inspire, and entertain an audience. That’s where we come in. In an effort to give our clients what they are looking for, Parc Entertainment will soon be Red Fox Media. In addition to our video production and post-production services, we now offer full website design, development, and SEO for our clients. By February 1, 2010 we hope to launch our new identity and we encourage you to send us an email, call, or stop by our offices so we can discuss how our production services can benefit your business.

I’m excited to announce that we’re moving into pre-production for our next short film, tentatively titled “If Only.” We’re looking for talented actors who would be willing to donate their time and effort to help with this project. We will be holding auditions for the film around the first or second week in February. Please keep an eye out for the exact dates, times, and locations.

We did want to take an opportunity to make this initial announcement so you could be thinking about whether you would like to help.
Here’s what we’re looking for:

Cast:

VANESSA - Mid 30s. A classy woman who dresses smart. She’s not snobby or uptight. She suffers from emotional issues following a turbulent relationship. She has a close group of friends she relies on, and won’t really let anyone else in to her life. She’s guarded and introverted.

MATTHEW - Late 30s. Ex-boyfriend of Vanessa. Charming, but manipulative. Moderately successful. Moody. Insincere — will always tell you what you want to hear.

VANESSA’S FRIENDS - Three Women mid 30s-early 40s. Fun, sincere, trustworthy, just an all-around good group. Don’t think “Desperate Housewives” or “Sex in the City.”

THERAPIST - Male or Female - Late 40s to mid 50s. Intelligent, academic. Soothing voice, calming effect on others.

We will also have some supporting roles including:

WAITER
POLICE OFFICER
MAITRE DE
RESTAURANT HOSTESS

And we will also be in need of extras to fill out a restaurant scene.

Again, we will post the exact dates and times for the auditions at a later date. If you would like to go ahead and send a resume and headshot, please feel free to do so.
You can send it to clint@ParcEntertainment.com.

George Lucas is telling MTV that discussions are under way for Indy 5, and that if produced, it would center on Indy and not Mutt Williams (thank god). Lucas also indicated that they are working on an object for Indy to go after. Should there be a fifth Indiana Jones movie? If so, what should be the focus of Indy’s search? Read the full article here.

Things are happening fast here. Hopefully by the end of June I will be settled into my new office space, which is very exciting. I can see many new opportunities by making this move. Also, my May calendar is filling up quickly and if I can land a particular job that I’m bidding on next week, that should keep me pretty busy through June as well. I’m also considering taking on a summer intern to help with the work load and just this week I had an opportunity to shoot some footage that will be incorporated into a pitch for a new TV series. It’s the story about a remarkable teacher in the Birmingham area and the impact she has made on her students during her long tenure. If the show gets picked up we will be documenting her story throughout the 2008-2009 school year. This has just been a quick update on events happening here, but keep reading as I will certainly be posting articles of greater interest.

Okay, just when you thought remakes couldn’t get any more interesting, check this out. What do you think? Should this movie even be made?

With all the remakes in Hollywood these days - and especially after the success of Transformers - it was only a matter of time before studios gave the greenlight to other action figure adaptations. This news comes from Cinematical.com and discusses 20th Century Fox’s interest in developing Voltron for the big screen. Actually, friends of mine can tell you that I have been asking about a Voltron movie for a few months now. I loved the cartoon and action figures as a kid and would definitely like to see a full-length movie version.

I’m excited to announce that we are currently in development for another short, which will hopefully go into production around March 2008. The premise and basic storyline are in place and we are currently working on a treatment. The script should be finalized this summer. After “Collection” I decided I wanted to create an outrageous comedy so I went back through my notes and dusted off a concept I had originally written down in March 2006. I approached Troy to help me with the script, as he has a unique comedic mind. We will be casting people with strong improvisational skills, so keep that in mind if you’re interested in being involved. You can continue to read updates about the project here or on our MySpace page.

If you are anything like me, you tuned in every Sunday night throughout the mid-late 90s to watch Agents Mulder and Scully on Fox’s hit show The X-Files, and, thanks to TiVo, I have been able to get reacquainted with the two paranormal investigators. 1998 saw the release of The X-Files: Fight the Future, but its alien, government conspiracy plot had many newcomers scratching their heads, asking “What’s going on?” Since that time, there has been rumors of a sequel, but a lawsuit between show creator Chris Carter and 20th Century Fox over royalty rights kept the project shoved deeper into the basement than Mulder’s office at FBI headquarters.

However, now that the lawsuit has been settled, both David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have confirmed that talks are back on regarding an X-Files sequel. In a recent interview with Empire, Anderson (who played Dana Scully on the series) reveals that she keeps in regular contact with Carter. The show’s creator won’t reveal any plot details, but Anderson did say that Carter wants to create a stand-alone horror film involving the two agents and stay away from the alien-conspiracy-government cover-up plot. Fans may feel slighted if the filmmakers avoid the alien storyline, but I for one feel that creating a stand-alone film is the right choice. This is probably the best news I’ve heard all day.
